May your walls know joy, may every room hold laughter, and every window open to great possibilities.

Recovery and rehabilitation after experiencing a chronic illness becomes a lifelong daily practice. Different Strokes for Different Folks is a stroke support group invested in creating a collaborative and exciting healing environment for stroke survivors. This group has been meeting in Los Gatos, CA for over a decade, with various members continuing to feel better twenty or more years after they first experienced a stroke. We believe that healing, recovery, and rehabilitation is an ongoing process that is remarkably enhanced through sharing of experiences and learning from the wisdom and experience of every stroke survivor. Each individual's recovery is as unique as his/her own fingerprint. We work together to identify individualized recovery interventions to meet the specific needs, interests, and lifestyle of each and every stroke survivor.
Our mission is to provide a place for all people to come together and through sharing of experiences, knowledge, and information, realize their potential and the endless possibilities and powers stored in each and every one of us for healing. This group has been successful in transforming challenges to opportunities for many over the years. Physical and emotional weaknesses that are commonly expressed and experienced by stroke survivors are used as a starting point to creating an exciting and inspiring healing adventure.
